As part of our Curious Minds award, we had Benny Joyce in school working with 1st to 6th classes on biodiversity, with a key focus on bees, and how important they are for our environment.
The boys and girls learned how to engineer a bee hive using different chambers. They also learned about the different bees that are present in a bee hive.
The children learned about the production of honey and then had the opportunity to sample local honey.
This was an example of simple engineering to support a complex process.
